Database Analyst/Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks a Data Analyst/Scientist to support the Army with Multi Domain Operations.  Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

 

Tasks include:

• Gather Army data sources for qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Use advanced R and/or Python to generate scripts
• Use packages (pandas, networkx, scikit-learn, pyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras, matplotlib, ggplot, plotly) to conduct data analysis, clean-up, and visualization
• Use multiple data analysis methodologies, with an emphasis on supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques  
• Maintain and deploy a notebook-based data science environment (RStudio/Jupyter Notebook) within a cloud infrastructure.
• Conduct process improvement using business automation tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
• Able to brief senior leaders on data-centric recommendations.  

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 8 years experience with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Must have a higher-level understanding/formal education in probability and statistics.
• Must have experience working with quantitative and qualitative Army data sources that support decision-making by DoD analysts.
• Knowledge in data operations by ensuring data meets VAULTIS standards, ultimately achieving data-centricity by using speed and scale for operational advantage and increased efficiency across the warfighting functions and Army operations.
• Competent in advanced R and/or Python to generate scripts.
• Familiar with multiple data analysis methodologies, specifically supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques such as neural networks, data network flows, mixed integer programming, regression, clustering, and principal component analysis.
• Familiar with notebook-based RStudio/Jupyter Notebook within a cloud infrastructure.
• Must have Web programming skills for Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Ability to support project management principles for organizational improvement.
• Stong communciation skills -- experience briefing senior leaders on data-centric recommendations.
• DoD TS clearance
• U.S citizenship required

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
