Pera is a two-location New York City restaurant group with more than three decades of combined operations. Pera Mediterranean Brasserie in Midtown offers an elegant Eastern Mediterranean dining experience, while Pera Soho brings the same culinary philosophy to a warm, vibrant setting with indoor dining, private event spaces and an outdoor garden. Both restaurants are built on quality ingredients, caring execution and warm Mediterranean hospitality.
Pera Soho is seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead front-of-house operations, develop employees, maintain service standards, and improve operating systems.
Responsibilities
-Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate FOH employees
-Create training manuals, onboarding plans, service guides, and employee quizzes
-Develop opening, closing, side-work, sanitation, and maintenance checklists
-Conduct menu, wine, spirits, POS, and service training
-Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional standards-
-Manage scheduling, staffing, shift coverage, and labor control
-Lead dining-room, bar, and service operations
-Monitor reservations, seating, table flow, staffing, and ticket times
-Coordinate effectively with the kitchen, bar, and FOH team
-Enforce service standards and address performance issues
-Handle complex guest concerns and service recovery
-Manage beverage and operating-supply inventory
-Monitor waste, breakage, comps, discounts, voids, and product usage
-Review closing reports, cash handling, and financial reconciliation
-Maintain restaurant cleanliness, appearance, and functionality
-Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance
-Ensure compliance with restaurant policies and health standards
-Create and update standard operating procedures
-Identify recurring problems and implement practical solutions
-Recommend improvements to service, workflow, sales, and cost control
Qualifications
-At least two years of restaurant management experience in a high volume restaurant
-High-volume restaurant management experience strongly preferred
-Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate employees
-Experience creating training materials and operating procedures
-Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, bar operations, and service standards
-Understanding of inventory, labor, cash handling, and cost controls
-Strong communication, organization, and guest-relations skills
-Proficiency with POS, reservation, scheduling, and office software
-Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and closing shifts
-NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred
