What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations SME Technical Advisor position at Per Se Group Inc?
We’re seeking an experienced power plant Operations SME with hands-on GE Mark VI / Mark VIe controls expertise to support commissioning/startup and help drive operational readiness at an active generation facility. This is a field-based technical advisor / mentor role (not a supervisory position).
What you’ll do
- Provide commissioning/startup support for new simple cycle generating units (startup, turnover, transition to operations)
- Serve as the on-site GE Mark VI/VIe controls SME for operations support, controls navigation, and troubleshooting
- Support control room readiness during commissioning phases
- Mentor and train operators on Mark VI / Mark VIe controls functionality and operation
- Partner with operations/maintenance/OEM teams to maintain safe, reliable operations during commissioning activity
Must-have requirements (emphasis)
- Direct, hands-on experience with GE Mark VI and/or Mark VIe controls in a power generation environment (required)
- Commissioning/startup/turnover experience supporting new units or plant transitions (required)
- Strong background in power plant operations (Control Room Operator / Senior Operator / Operations Specialist or similar)
- Experience in simple cycle and/or combined cycle environments
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced commissioning setting; strong communication skills
Preferred
- GE gas turbine operations exposure (e.g., GE 7F platform experience)
- Prior SME/TFA/Field Advisor-type support experience (OEM/FieldCore-style support is a plus)
Schedule / onsite
- Onsite role; day shift, approx. 5x10s (50 hrs/week)
Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
