The Lay’s team is looking for a Commercial Marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative, and fun environment.
As the Associate Marketing Manager on the Lay’s Engagement team, you play a critical role in the brand’s success. You will be accountable for planning and executing innovation launches, tentpole activations, and retail programming that accelerate growth on the iconic Lay’s brand.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative and passionate leader with a natural curiosity about the consumer and the role of Lay’s in his/her life. S/he will work cross-functionally to uncover sharp insights and create breakthrough marketing. S/he must lead through influence, always bringing others along.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead Key Lay’s Engagement programs and projects (Lay’s tentpole and PGS activations) that captivate our core consumer, engage the field, and drive sales growth. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading program development with agencies (from briefing to execution)
- Creative & equity program elements media planning
- Wiring internally with the DX shopper marketing team and sales teams
- Commercialize Lay’s flavor Innovation for in-year calendar and beyond, partnering on packaging development, launch strategy, and sell-in.
- Develop and grow relationships with our key customer teams and PGS to jointly build l strategies that grow both businesses.
- Act as strategic thought leader for his/her part of the business to support Lay’s portfolio / occasion strategy in PSP and AOP planning process.
- Partner cross functionally to ensure communication of all project updates and changes. Key partners include Lay’s sublines team, Lay’s equity team, Shopper/DX teams, sales and commercialization teams, innovation teams, and finance teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education Minimum Qualification:
Bachelors Degree; MBA preferred
- Minimum Qualification: 5 years prior Marketing experience (if Undergrad degree only) OR 2 years of prior Marketing experience (if Advanced degree)
Ideal candidate has:
- High levels of consumer empathy and understanding
- Ability to be in the details of the day-to-day and move the work forward while also achieving strategic brand objectives.
- Strong ownership / accountability with ability and desire to take action without being prompted, overcoming obstacles and finding opportunity.
- Motivation to work on a fast-paced brand team and manage multiple priorities at once.
- Eagerness and ability to serve as a lead for high visibility projects and collaborate cross functionally.
- Strong executive presence and maturity to lead and interact with internal and external senior level leadership.
- Experience and success managing high levels of ambiguity.
- Exceptional project and timeline management skills with ability to set the agenda.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (MS PowerPoint).
- Interest in contributing to the collegial culture of the Lay’s brand team.
