Duties
- Develop and oversee comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s unique needs, including those requiring Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of caregiving staff to ensure consistent delivery of compassionate, resident-centered services.
- Monitor medication administration processes to guarantee safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to assess resident progress and adjust care strategies accordingly.
- Lead efforts in managing operations related to long-term care, including budgeting, resource allocation, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular assessments of residents’ physical and emotional well-being, addressing concerns promptly to enhance quality of life.
- Provide leadership in managing group home environments or retirement communities by supervising staff performance and fostering teamwork.
- Facilitate training sessions on dementia care techniques, medication management, and emergency procedures to ensure staff are well-prepared.
- Engage actively in community outreach initiatives to promote the facility’s services and strengthen relationships with residents’ families.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments with a strong understanding of long-term care operations.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively in fast-paced settings.
- Extensive knowledge of dementia care practices, Alzheimer’s support strategies, and memory care protocols.
- Background in nursing or social work is highly desirable; applicable certifications such as RN or LPN are a plus.
- Familiarity with developing and managing care plans tailored for individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments.
- Strong organizational skills with experience in budgeting, resource management, and regulatory compliance.
