Assistant Professor of Legal Research and Writing

Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law seeks an Assistant Professor of Legal Research and Writing to join our collaborative LRW faculty team beginning in fall 2026. The LRW Professor will teach two sections of our year-long, two-unit-per-semester LRW course with approximately 45 total students. The LRW faculty creates all course materials together and provides each other with significant support.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
• Possess excellent academic credentials
• Be committed to teaching Legal Research and Writing
• Support the mission of the University and law school
• At least two years of post-J.D. experience in a position or positions requiring substantial legal writing

This is a Full-Time, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $120,000 - $135,000 per year

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
