Summary
We are seeking a skilled and personable Server/Bartender who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. This hybrid role requires the ability to provide exceptional table service while also preparing quality beverages behind the bar. Flexibility to work between both Vesuvio and Little Napoli is required.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service from greeting to farewell
- Guide guests through menus, including food, wine, and cocktail selections
- Anticipate guest needs and ensure a seamless dining experience
- Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently
Bartending
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to recipe standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar
- Demonstrate knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, beer, and Italian spirits
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Support teammates during peak service periods
- Maintain clear and professional communication across both locations
Operational Duties
Accurately enter orders into POS (Toast experience preferred)
- Process payments and handle cash responsibly
- Complete opening and closing side work
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards
Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years of serving and/or bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Flexibility to work at both Vesuvio and Little Napoli as business needs require
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails (Italian cuisine knowledge a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure
- Must meet all California alcohol service requirements (e.g., RBS certification)
