Job Summary

The Executive Director for Student/Parent Support Services serves as a key district leader in ensuring students, families, and community members receive timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance regarding school-related concerns. This position oversees the intake, coordination, and resolution of inquiries and complaints, supports schools in resolving complex student situations, and promotes a positive, responsive experience for all stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Directs and manages incoming calls, emails, and inquiries from students, families, and members of the general public regarding school-related issues.
  • Provides clear, accurate guidance, resources, and referrals to address concerns effectively and ensure appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Leads problem-solving and conflict resolution for complex student and parent situations requiring district-level involvement.
  • Assures school compliance with Peoria Unified School District policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws related to student situations.
  • Communicates regularly and collaborates effectively with principals and assistant principals to support consistent and appropriate practices across schools.
  • Collaborate with the district\'s safety team regarding student/campus threat management systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with Executive Directors of School Performance regarding the resolution and prevention of complex student situations.
  • Collaborates with school administrators, district departments, and external agencies to resolve complex or sensitive cases.
  • Develops and implements systems and protocols to track, monitor, and improve response times, service quality, and incident outcomes.
  • Analyzes trends in inquiries and concerns to identify systemic issues and recommends improvements to processes, practices, or policies.
  • Ensures compliance with district policies, state regulations, and student privacy laws in all communications and incident handling.
  • Maintains a professional, empathetic, and solution-oriented approach in all interactions with students, families, staff, and community members.
  • Regularly communicates updates, identified trends, and support needs with district leadership to maintain transparency regarding student and school circumstances.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, statutes, rules, policies, and procedures related to students and families.
  • Knowledge of Peoria Unified School District policies, administrative regulations, and organizational practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex and sensitive issues using sound judgment, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and support staff effectively.
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to inform decision-making and process improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with administrators, staff, students, parents, external agencies, and the general public.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.


 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a master\'s degree in education, educational leadership, and a minimum of five years of experience in K-12 site administration.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of K-12 education.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Background in student advocacy and family engagement.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver\'s license.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours.
  • May be required to travel to perform work functions.
