What are the responsibilities and job description for the HCV Housing Inspector position at Peoria Housing Authority?
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Conducts annual, move-in, move-out, and special inspections of Section 8 dwellings to ensure
quality standards and enters results into computer.
- Checks buildings and dwellings for hazards and compliance with fire, health and safety codes.
- Recommends and assures rent rate reasonableness in compliance with HUD.
- May be required to appear in court in dispute settlements.
- Type repair notices and mail to landlords and tenants, as needed.
- Work with Leasing Specialist and manager regarding tenant moves and/or damage claims.
- Special ‘drive-by’ inspections to ensure grounds are kept in compliance with PHA policy.
- Keep daily and monthly reports and mail annual inspection sheets in a timely fashion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED; or, any combination of education and experience that provides the
necessary skills and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Illinois driver’s license and excellent driving record required
- HQS Certification certificate must be obtained within one year of employment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
