Jr. Software Engineer

Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is a company that hires and develops technology talent and puts them to work on client projects across the United States.  We specialize in full stack development, Cloud, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Offensive Cyber, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, Machine Learning (ML) related initiatives, both in the federal and commercial space. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Software Developer to support threat representation within the IC community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing web applications with proficiency in multiple programming languages.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-quality web applications hosted in a cloud environment
• Develop software applications in Python or C# for web based requirements
• Support and maintain DevSecOps pipelines for all software development projects
• Support software development or scripting for high demand data management tools hosting intelligence data
• Support Data Scientists in developing data analytical products or web-based applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Test and deploy software applications on cloud platforms in classified or unclassified spaces
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to cloud computing

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

• At least 1-2 years of experience in software development
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C , C# or Node.js
• Some knowledge of web application frameworks and basic networking knowledge to support deployment on classified and unclassified networks
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, such as agile methodologies, DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Travel: 5 %
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (additonal years of experince may be in lieu of degree).

Desired Skills:

• TS clearance. Ability to obtain SCI/poly
• Experience deploying software applications on classified networks
• Supported moving software applications through the RMF process on either unclassified or classified environments
• Security certification
• Azure or AWS cloud certifications
