Superintendent – Construction Projects

A well-established construction firm is seeking an experienced Superintendent to support an active project and help drive field operations, schedule adherence, subcontractor coordination, and quality execution. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day site activities, communicate clearly with project stakeholders, and maintain strong control over documentation, safety, and closeout

Role Summary

The Superintendent will oversee field operations, coordinate subcontractor activity, and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements. This person will work closely with the Project Manager to manage scope, sequencing, risk, documentation, and client/owner expectations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to lead field teams while maintaining a collaborative approach with subcontractors, inspectors, and project partner

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field operations in alignment with the project schedule and overall construction places
• Coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and site activities to maintain workflow and productivity.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure proper sequencing and installation.
• Maintain daily reports, logs, and site documentation in accordance with company procedures.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, punch lists, closeout activities, and occupancy turnover support.
• Assist the Project Manager with change conditions, schedule impacts, subcontractor scope issues, and pay application accuracy.
• Monitor site safety and support compliance with the project safety plan, OSHA requirements, and company safety procedures.
• Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and project partners.
• Identify issues early and communicate solutions promptly to the Project Manager.
• Support project planning, field team organization, temporary facilities/utilities, and long-lead item coordination.
• Help train and guide subordinate field staff as needed.
• Ensure quality standards are met and that work is completed in a professional, timely manner.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Superintendent or field leadership role in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and site logistics.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, daily reports, punch lists, and closeout processes.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors and maintain project schedule priorities.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and field teams.
• Computer literacy for project documentation and field administration.
• CPR/First Aid certification and OSHA training preferred or required upon hire.

Compensation and Timing

• Contract opportunity, with opportunity for extension
• Immediate start preferred.
