Peoples Senior Living, one of Tacoma's premier affordable Assisted Living communities, is seeking a part-time driver to contribute significantly to meet our residents needs. The individual selected will need to be FUN, CREATIVE, reliable, customer service-minded, and take pride in making our residents smile through the delivery of quality programming in our building. Must have a valid WA driver’s license be willing/able to drive a 12 passenger Bus (No CDL required) as well as a company vehicle (Training provided). Be certified HCA/CAN or willing to complete certification with-in 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities may include:

• Plan, organize, and direct individual and group activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of each resident.
• Communicate available programs to the residents and encourage participation.
• Routinely evaluate, assess, develop, and fulfill your departmental program functions as required to carry out the continuing mission of the organization within its guiding principles and core values.
• Be willing to help on the floor with resident care needs as needed.
• Drive residents to appointments and outings

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job.

Qualifications and skills:

• Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be willing to acquire or have HCA/CNA certification from the State of Washington
• Must have knowledge of nursing care practices, especially in the context of geriatric care; state Boarding Home regulations pertaining to resident care
• Must have at least two (2) years’ experience working in a social or recreation program, preferably in a boarding home or long-term care setting, conducting both individual and group activities
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, team-player, caring and able to foster atmosphere of dignity and respect
• Clean background check
• Requires a positive attitude and high energy level
• Requires strong communication skills
• Be detail oriented
