Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting software and principles, including GAAP, and have experience with both corporate and non-profit accounting environments. This role involves maintaining general ledger accuracy, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports to support organizational decision-making. The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our financial data and supporting compliance with regulatory standards.
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for the company. This includes recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and producing financial statements. The role requires attention to detail and familiarity with accounting software.

Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Quicken
- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately
- Maintain accurate records of payroll, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial analysis to support organizational planning
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and other relevant regulations
- Conduct double-entry bookkeeping to maintain the integrity of financial data
- Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions
- Perform 10 key typing for data entry tasks with high accuracy
Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
Other duties may be assigned.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries
- Experience with corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting preferred
- Knowledge of bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance procedures
- Ability to interpret financial concepts and prepare clear financial reports
- Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry (10 key typing skills)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred but not mandatory based on experience
