What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at Peoples Organic Coffee & Wine Cafe?
Peoples Organic is looking to add a front of house store manager to the team.
Our managers lead by example and are on the floor serving, barista'ing, on register or drive-thru 90% of the time. There is about 5-6 hours a week that are office or inventory hours. This person must love customer service and being on the floor with all our regulars.
This is a very teachable position and if you have experience as a server, barista, assistant manager and love for people you have the experience we are looking for.
Primary Purpose:
- Work in contact with the customer
- Responsible for team awareness of the importance of the customer through training, communication and exemplarity
- Responsible for creating and implementing action plans to improve customer satisfaction
OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for ensuring all systems are in place and up to date
· Responsible for completing FOH inventory monthly (food, with owners and equipment)
· Must be able to effectively communicate to staff all procedures (service standards, cleanliness, cash handling…)
· Able to utilize operating systems including Toast & Sling and train new staff on systems
· Develop staff schedule on a bi-weekly basis
· In regards to controlling labor, must ensure that hourly staff levels are monitored quickly, and staff is cut according to established revenue/labor guidelines.
· Keep up with weekly tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning vents etc.
A) Hygiene and safety
· Responsible for the implementation of hygiene standards
· Guarantees Customer a clean and pleasant environment
· Ensures sanitation procedures are in place and followed by all staff
· Ensures compliance with government and company regulations and requirements
· Has a thorough understanding of line checks and opening systems
· Responsible for enforcing a mandatory cleaning schedule on a daily basis
B) Service
- Responsible for meeting the standards of service
- Responsible for implementation and monitoring of corrective actions
- Responsible for FOH and BOH scheduling
COMMUNICATION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT
· Manages the team fairly and equitably, creates a good working atmosphere and team cohesion
· Establishes and maintain good communication with the team,
· Knows how to delegate
· Supervises personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews.
· Trains to established standards on an ongoing basis.
· Holds crew and management team accountable by monitoring performance relative to goals (expectations), provides feedback
· Able to convey a sense of urgency when necessary in a professional manner
· Ensures employee uniforms and appearance meet standards
· Must be able to lead team through heavy service times calmly, professionally and effectively.
· Must be able to train existing staff to next level of skill, constantly moving staff to the next level.
· SM must be ServSafe trained.

Employment Standards
Knowledge:
Detailed knowledge of all aspects of the restaurant industry and restaurant management is required.
Experience:
Successful track record managing or supervising a casual dining establishment.
Experience as a server and barista is a huge plus.
Other:
Flexible work schedule including morning, nights and weekends. Able to lift up to 50lb.
The average workweek is 38-40 hours; however, if there is a call in you are responsible to fill in as needed.

Pay: $53,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
