The Cashier/Stock/Front End Associate is responsible for overseeing all front-end operations, cashiering duties, and stock replenishment in a high-volume wine and spirits retail store. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities
Cashiering
- Operate cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and other payment methods
- Resolve customer issues or complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain cash drawer accountability and balance drawers at the end of each shift
Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed
- Receive and process incoming merchandise shipments
- Ensure proper stock rotation and organization of products
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom and sales floor
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Assist customers with product selection, recommendations, and inquiries
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail environment, preferably in a wine and spirits store
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in cash handling and basic math skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy cases of merchandise (up to 50 lbs)
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including some holidays and weekends
