What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Commercial Lending - Mt. Sterling KY position at Peoples Exchange Bank?
This position will assist customers with commercial lending needs by analyzing loan requests and make credit decisions based on lending policy. The Lender will interview commercial businesses to develop information concerning their loan needs, earnings, and financial condition. The ability to analyze current financial position and to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Makes decisions to approve, disapprove, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision. Establishes the terms and conditions of the loan. Prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy. It is expected that this employee will follow current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections. Participates in sales development activities. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of previous experience.
Role:
Responsible for the originating, managing, and supervising the bank's portfolio of commercial loans, with the overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Takes applications for commercial loan business. Reviews customer financial condition and assesses the customer's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
- Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the bank. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the bank's client base.
- Assists in collection of past due loans.
- Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date client files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
- Assists customers with any loan-related questions and concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
