Summary:

o The Deposit Operations Specialist supports routine day-to-day operations of consumer and commercial banking. Research items in accounts, daily processing of wire transfers, ACH transactions, debit card dispute and research, check fraud, daily reports for balancing and incoming returns, overdraft and exception items to include charge-off, OD protections, NSF’s and general exception questions.

Specific Job Functions:

o Process deposit exception items such as non-post, NSF, stop payments, adjustments, and returned deposited items accurately and timely

o Provide online banking support with exceptional customer service

o HSA Reporting

o Process Check Chargebacks

o Provide Bill Pay/ Zelle support

o Monitor ACH file processing for the bank

o Review and track overdrawn accounts; process deposit account charge-offs in accordance with bank policy

o Produce large item reports

o Run monthly inactive fee report

o Unposted items and return item processing

o Process unauthorized Debit/FED check adjustments

o Process daily reports for returns

o Debit card disputes

o Process ACH, Debit Card and Checks in Verafin

o Responsible for printing and processing notices, letters and interest checks

o Set up, train and provide support for cash management for business customers

o Conduct and process wire transfers and wire agreements

o Process returned mail items

o Interact with internal and external clients while providing extraordinary service

o Will follow established processes and guidelines in daily activities and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.

o Assists in answering telephones, answers questions and direct callers to proper Bank personnel

  • Represent the bank in a professional manner during and outside of office hours

o Demonstrate flexibility to perform every other duty as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Highly reliable with the ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • Must be motivated, dependable and responsible
  • Must be approachable and present a positive attitude
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently possessing good effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Sensitivity to confidential information is required
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • Two to 3 years of job-related experience or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Relevant experience in banking or financial services a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
  • Use of hands to make small movements such as typing and picking up small objects
  • Visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or open machinery
