What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Carpenter position at PeopleReady Skilled Trades?
We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team for ongoing commercial construction projects throughout New York's Capital Region. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong carpentry skills, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience supervising small crews.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project layouts
- Perform and oversee metal stud framing and general carpentry work
- Lead and coordinate a crew of 2–3 carpenters/laborers
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
- Communicate effectively with project managers and jobsite personnel
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Lead Carpenter
- Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
- Experience with metal stud framing
- Ability to lead and motivate a small crew
- Reliable transportation and willingness to commute up to 30 minutes to jobsites throughout the Capital Region
