Journeyman Mason

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, with experience in various techniques and materials. This role involves working on diverse projects, including new constructions, renovations, and restorations. The Mason will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.

Duties

• Construct, repair, and maintain structures made of brick, block, stone, and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine project specifications.
• Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to create durable surfaces.
• Install rebar as required for structural integrity in concrete projects.
• Execute hardscape installations including patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
• Apply plastering techniques for smooth finishes on walls and ceilings.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks.
• Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, and heavy equipment operation to ensure project completion.
• Conduct renovations and restorations while maintaining the integrity of existing structures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.

Skills

• Proficient in masonry techniques including tile laying, stucco application, caulking, and trim carpentry.
• Strong understanding of construction estimating to assess project costs accurately.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation related to masonry work.
• Ability to perform welding tasks when required for specific projects.
• Knowledge of frame carpentry and metal stud framing as it relates to masonry applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
