Plastic Paint Technician
- Full-Time
- 3rd shift
- 7pm - 5am
- Sunday – Wednesday (Overtime Thursday when required)
- $17-18

Responsible for mixing paint to meet specific adhesion properties and ensure accurate color matching for production. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct tests to verify viscosity, temperature, and fluid delivery to ensure optimal performance of paint application systems.
- Accurately weigh and measure materials and ingredients to meet specification requirements.
- Pour or dump precise quantities of materials into machinery or equipment; manually mix chemicals and ingredients using appropriate tools.
- Monitor blending machines and stop operations once target product quality is achieved. Transfer mixtures using pumps and valves, then unload to containers or conveyors.
- Oversee production processes and equipment (e.g., pumps, conveyors) to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
- Clean and maintain mixing equipment using hand tools; drain slurry/paint into storage tanks as needed.
- Perform mathematical calculations to measure paints, solvents, and related materials accurately.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation related to paint mixing operations.
- Collaborate with process engineers on quality control and paint inventory management.
- Provide weekly inventory updates to the Finance department.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Assist the Paint Kitchen Manager with DEQ hazardous waste compliance documentation.
- Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices to prioritize the use of older paint batches.
- Complete pump start-ups and perform filter changes as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Order and manage inventory levels of paint and solvents.
- Frequently exposed to manufacturing conditions, including noise, dust, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures.

Preferred Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have or be able to obtain a Hi-lo (forklift) license
- 1–3 years of paint mixing experience
- 1–3 years in automotive or manufacturing environments
- 5 years of paint mixing experience
- 5 years in manufacturing
- Experience in color development and troubleshooting color mismatches
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Basic English literacy (reading, writing, and following instructions)
- Must pass Titmus vision and AAI color tests
- Frequent use of hands for tools, controls, and typing
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout shift
- Regular climbing, balancing, and stooping required
- Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds from floor level to 36 inches
