Forklift Operator
Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent business in the Tupelo MS area is seeking Forklift Operator to join their team! This customer is offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!
Forklift
· Pay: $15 per hour
· Shifts Available: 5am-1:30pm M-F
Required Qualifications
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean, strip, and prepare metal components for painting or finishing.
- Remove rust, scale, oxidation, weld slag, paint, and other surface contaminants.
- Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Monitor blast media quality and replenish materials as needed.
- Read and follow work orders, blueprints, production schedules, and established work instructions.
- Maintain production targets while ensuring quality and safety requirements are met.
- Clean and organize blasting booths, equipment, and work areas according to 5S standards.
- Collaborate with weld, fabrication, and paint department personnel to ensure timely movement of products through the manufacturing process.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations regarding blasting operations and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other production-related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous industrial blasting, manufacturing, fabrication, paint preparation, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate blasting equipment and associated tools.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and work orders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Pull and stage materials according to production schedules and work orders.
- Deliver raw materials, parts, and supplies to production areas as needed.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify material quantities and product numbers to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain inventory organization and proper storage of materials.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.
- Inspect forklifts daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and work area.
- Assist shipping, receiving, and production departments as required.
- Complete basic paperwork and use inventory tracking systems when necessary.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
- Manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand production orders and inventory documents.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
