1st Shift Material Handler

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is partnering with a respected client in Romulus, Michigan specializing in Modular Home Manufacturing.

Material Handler Job Summary:

• Safe operation of a lift truck in both warehouse and production areas

• Loading, unloading, storage and movement of materials through warehouse and/or production areas

• Verify the quality of the material sent outbound meets customer expectations

• Maintain clean and orderly warehouse

• Adheres to all instructions in a professional manner

• Pay: $18-20 per hour, based on experience

• Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm with occasional overtime as needed

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

• Safely operating forklifts to transport materials in a construction setting & building trades field

• Loading/unloading material from trucks

• Maintaining organized warehouse/production inventory

• Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred

• Collaborates with employees to maintain organization & delivering materials with urgency

• Always adheres to safety protocols and follows policies and procedures

• Other duties as assigned by Management

Material Handler Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or related field preferred.

• Experience: 5 years’ experience operating a forklift as well as in the building trades field, previous experience working with diverse populations preferred

• Previous background in production preferred

• Regular and predictable attendance required

• Material handling experience.

Additional abilities required:

• Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.

• Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.

• Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.

• Ability to read, write and use micrometers, calipers, tape measures and other related measurement equipment required.

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.

• Works well as part of a team.
