Role Overview

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful delivery of software initiatives while ensuring high standards of quality across all releases. This role works closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and business stakeholders to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within scope, while embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a senior, delivery-focused individual contributor, this role provides leadership in project execution, release readiness, and quality assurance practices, helping the organization scale predictable delivery without sacrificing quality. In the near term, this role will own and mature the QA process, with the expectation that quality responsibilities will evolve as the organization and team scale.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of technical projects across engineering, product, and design teams
  • Translate product and business requirements into detailed project plans, milestones, and delivery timelines
  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, standups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Track project progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers, driving proactive resolution
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and maintain clear, consistent communication on delivery status
  • Define, own, and evolve the organization’s QA strategy, standards, and processes
  • Ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC, from requirements through release
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria
  • Oversee functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Manage defect triage, prioritization, and release readiness decisions
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve test coverage, automation, and defect prevention
  • Maintain project documentation, delivery metrics, and release reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience in Technical Project Management, QA, or software delivery roles
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum/Kanban methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with QA processes, testing methodologies, and defect management
  • Ability to understand technical architecture, APIs, and software development concepts
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting SaaS, data-intensive, or high-availability platforms
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, or similar delivery and QA tools
  • Background in engineering, QA engineering, or technical analysis
  • Experience improving delivery predictability and quality in growing organizations
