We are seeking an Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit team of a highly profitable, Fortune 500, NYSE-listed financial services and insurance organization with more than $10 billion in revenue. The Internal Auditor will assist with execution of the annual Audit Plan and gain broad exposure across financial, operational, information technology, compliance, and internal control audits. Working closely with senior members of the Internal Audit team, this individual will perform SOX/internal control testing, participate in operational audits, and support annual Third-Party Administrator (TPA) audits involving premium, cancellation, and claims testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with financial, operational, compliance, and information technology audits.
- Perform SOX compliance and internal control testing, including evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls.
- Conduct process walkthroughs and interview business personnel to develop an understanding of business processes, risks, and controls.
- Execute Third-Party Administrator (TPA) audit testing related to premiums, cancellations, and claims.
- Review and analyze documentation and data to evaluate accuracy, authorization, control effectiveness, and segregation of duties.
- Evaluate compliance with established company policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulations.
- Identify and document potential financial, operational, compliance, and fraud risks.
- Assist in communicating audit findings and opportunities for process or control improvements.
- Support the annual risk assessment and development/execution of the Audit Plan.
- Collaborate with business leaders and internal stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in internal audit, public accounting, risk advisory, SOX compliance, internal controls, or a related area.
- Experience or exposure to SOX compliance and internal control testing strongly preferred.
- Ability to interact professionally with employees and business leaders across multiple levels of the organization.
- CPA or CIA, is a plus.
- Ability to travel 10% or less.
