Position Summary

This position provides an extraordinary member experience by identifying and ordering the documentation required to process loans, as well as tracking and ensuring receipt of required documents from borrowers.


Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Preparation of Loan Packages

  • Evaluates mortgage loan application packages and applies knowledge of loan product parameters, loan policies, documentation requirements and regulations to move loan through processes required to prepare loan for closing
  • Orders and tracks receipts of required third party verifications (i.e. appraisals, credit reports, title reports, employment, etc.)
  • Prepares and delivers updated disclosures within requisite timeframes
  • Prepares application packages for Mortgage Advisors’ review and underwriting
  • Interacts with and assists Mortgage Advisors to obtain all necessary supporting documentation for application packages

 

Documentation & Communication Notices

  • Provides loan officers and borrowers with written correspondence pertaining to loan status, approval/denial, and outstanding conditions
  • Prepares commitment and adverse action notices
  • Monitors assigned loans to ensure timely processing
  • Prepares and distributes daily mortgage rate sheet to the Lending Department
  • Verifies that all required and outstanding documents have been obtained and approved prior to closing
  • Prepares and delivers the Pre-Closing Disclosure and all documentation for mortgage closing
  • Performs data entry and ensures accuracy of data base


Compliance 

  • Adheres to and demonstrates the behaviors of the Credit Union’s core values; actively works to enhance the member experience throughout the Credit Union
  • Performs all duties in line with all Credit Union policies and all state and federal regulations
  • Other duties as requested


National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) Registration

  • Apply for and successfully maintain NMLS registration
  • Completion of all assigned trainings per regulations set forth by SAFE Act 
  • Completion of annual registration renewal process

Knowledge and Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months to 2 years’ experience in lending practices and procedures
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence
  • Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities
  • National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required 


ADA Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and regularly lifting up to 10 lbs. 
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. 
  • Must be able to work additional hours whenever required or requested by management. 
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

 

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
  • Must be able to prioritize work, maintain engagement and productivity in a remote work environment.
