Under the supervision of the Clinical Supports Supervisor, the Clinician will monitor Positive Behavior Supports and Behavior Services that assist adults with developmental disabilities in the programs of the Residential Services and Adult Day Services Divisions. The Clinician will assist in the individuals’ acquiring, retaining, and improving the skills necessary to function successfully in the home and community. The Clinician may have opportunities to support children in the programs of the Children’s Services Division, as well.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Supports Supervisor, the Clinician will monitor Positive Behavior Supports and Behavior Services that assist adults with developmental disabilities in the programs of the Residential Services and Adult Day Services Divisions. The Clinician will assist in the individuals’ acquiring, retaining, and improving the skills necessary to function successfully in the home and community. The Clinician may have opportunities to support children in the programs of the Children’s Services Division, as well.
Essential Functions
- Manage and oversee clinical services related to programs and assigned cases in the Adult Day Services, Children’s Services, and Residential Services Divisions, and other programs as needed.
- Collaborate with Agency Division Directors and Program Managers, ensuring cross-divisional communication and support.
- Collaborate with the MA Department of Developmental Services (DDS), area professionals, and community resources to ensure and enhance quality of services.
- Submit all appropriate reports and statistical data as required.
- Evaluate referral packets and determine level of support needs.
- Write and monitor Positive Behavior Support plans.
- Provide clinical supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians, if needed.
- Train staff in Safety-Care and Positive Behavior Support.
- Monitor staff implementation of Safety-Care, Positive Behavior Support, and Behavior Support Plans and provide feedback when necessary.
- Observe individuals in their daily and familiar settings and observe staff members on the job.
- Collect data sheets from programs, and graph and analyze data when needed.
- Attend a Quality Behavioral Solutions training session to become a Certified Safety-Care trainer to train staff in Safety-Care crisis prevention.
- Create materials related to Positive Behavior Support Plans and the implementation of Positive Behavior Support.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with individuals and their guardians.
- Attend meetings with guardians, management, DDS, and staff to communicate any concerns and provide treatment strategies.
- Attend Human Rights Committee, Peer Review Committee, and Positive Behavior Support Leadership meetings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master’s level certified BCBA with state licensure
- Bachelor’s level certified BCaBA with state licensure may be considered.
- LICSW or LMHC professional degree and licensure are also considered.
- Maintenance of professional certifications and state issued-professional licenses
- Knowledge of social service programs for each population being served; minimum of 3 years’ experience required.
- Skill in administration and/or supervision
- Skill in serving as role model and leader within organizations and service communities
- Skill in responding to emergencies within the Clinical Supports Division
- A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license
