Compensation: Up to $250,000 base meaningful early-stage equity
Location: New York City (Hybrid)
A stealth-stage startup is building AI-native infrastructure for a highly complex, deeply entrenched segment of institutional finance.
The company is rethinking how large-scale regulatory and governance workflows are analyzed, interpreted, and operationalized using modern AI systems, automation, and intelligent workflow tooling. Their platform combines structured data ingestion, NLP, and LLM-driven recommendation systems to help enterprise customers make faster, more transparent decisions at scale.
Led by an exceptionally experienced founding team spanning institutional finance, enterprise software, and technical product development, the business is still extremely early — offering the opportunity to shape the product, architecture, and engineering culture from the ground up.
The Role
This is a true Founding Full Stack Engineer opportunity focused on taking the product from zero to one.
You’ll work directly with the founders — particularly the CTO — to turn product concepts and early designs into production systems. The role spans frontend, backend, APIs, infrastructure, AI workflows, and platform architecture.
This is ideal for someone who enjoys ambiguity, moves quickly, and wants meaningful ownership in an early-stage company where engineering decisions directly shape the business.
What You’ll Do
- Build the initial product and platform architecture from scratch
- Turn product concepts and designs into production-ready software
- Develop frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and core infrastructure
- Build systems for ingesting and processing large-scale regulatory and enterprise datasets
- Help define how AI agents, automation, and LLM workflows are integrated into the platform
- Collaborate directly with founders on product direction and rapid iteration
- Establish engineering best practices, tooling, and development workflows from day one
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy and future hiring decisions
What You’ll Bring
- 4 years of software engineering experience
- Strong full stack engineering background with deep TypeScript experience
- Experience building products or systems from scratch
- Ability to operate independently with minimal structure
- Strong product instincts and a builder mentality
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-moving startup environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLMs, GenAI, or AI-native products
- AWS or cloud infrastructure experience
