Carrier Sales Representative | Elmhurst, IL (HYBRID) | Salary: $75,000 base commission
Responsible for securing reliable, cost-effective trucking capacity across all major equipment types, with a strong emphasis on full truckload (FTL), partial truckload, and expedited freight. This position is heavily performance-driven. Success is measured by your ability to cover loads efficiently, reduce uncovered freight, maintain strong carrier acceptance rates, and support internal sales teams with accurate and timely pricing.

Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and secure trucking capacity for domestic freight shipments (full truckload, partial, and expedited services)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners, owner-operators, and brokerage contacts
- Quote competitive rates to internal sales teams and customers while maintaining margin targets
- Track market conditions, capacity trends, and pricing fluctuations in the U.S. freight market
- Manage day-to-day carrier communication including booking loads, tracking shipments, and resolving service issues
- Collaborate with operations and customer sales teams to ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance
- Develop new carrier relationships to expand coverage in key lanes and regions
- Utilize TMS platforms and load boards to optimize coverage and efficiency
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in carrier sales, logistics brokerage, or freight forwarding (domestic U.S. focus preferred)
- Strong understanding of the U.S. trucking market and transportation pricing dynamics
- Proven negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Experience with TMS systems and load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc. preferred)
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
