Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead all operational functions within our food manufacturing and co-packing facility. This executive will oversee production, supply chain, quality, maintenance, engineering, and facility operations while driving efficiency, safety, compliance, and long-term growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, data-driven leader with deep food manufacturing expertise and a passion for building high-performing teams.Direct HireSalary rate: $225k-$250KMust be flexible with scheduleKey Responsibilities:Operational LeadershipLead all manufacturing operations including sauces, beverages, salsas, pickled goods, and thermal-processing lines.Improve throughput, yields, waste reduction, labor efficiency, and equipment uptime.Oversee batch processing, packaging lines, labeling, and finished-goods handling.Supply Chain & LogisticsManage procurement, production planning, inventory, warehousing, and logistics.Ensure material availability, on-time delivery, and strong vendor partnerships.Food Safety & QualityEnsure compliance with FDA, FSMA, SQF/BRC, HACCP, GMPs, and customer requirements.Maintain audit readiness and oversee sanitation, traceability, allergen, and quality programs.Financial & P&L AccountabilityLead operational budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and capital planning.Drive margin improvement through process optimization, automation, and waste reduction.R&D & CommercializationSupport new product development, product trials, and scale-ups.Collaborate with Sales and customers on co-packing and private-label programs.Maintenance & EngineeringOversee maintenance teams, preventive maintenance, automation, and facility upgrades.Ensure safe, reliable operation of all production equipment and utilities.Leadership & CultureDevelop leaders across Production, QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Safety.Foster a culture of accountability, communication, safety, and continuous improvement.Systems & TechnologyEnsure accurate use of ERP/MES systems (NetSuite, RedZone preferred).Use data and analytics to support operational decision-making.Customer CollaborationServe as the main operational contact for key co-packing customers.Lead audits, business reviews, and communication on performance and schedules.QualificationsBachelor’s in Operations, Food Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.10–20 years leadership experience in food manufacturing/co-packing/CPG.5–10 years senior or multi-site operational leadership.Experience leading 200 employees and multiple production lines.Strong knowledge of FDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs, and SQF/BRC.P&L and CapEx management experience required.ERP experience required (NetSuite & RedZone preferred).Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement expertise preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.Work EnvironmentFast-paced manufacturing setting with regular plant-floor exposure.Walking, stair climbing, and occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.Exposure to elevated noise and seasonal temperatures (PPE required).Periods of desk and computer work.If you are a proven operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about building strong teams, driving results, and shaping the future of a growing organization, we encourage you to apply.
