Job description:We are seeking a motivated Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services. This position requires a strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and ERP systems. The Buyer will collaborate closely with manufacturing, logistics, and quality teams to support production planning and overall supply chain efficiency.Pay: $23–$24/hour BOESchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PMTemp to HireResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with category management objectives and procurement policies.Manage supplier relationships, conduct negotiations, and establish contracts to secure favorable terms.Utilize ERP systems like SAP and Oracle EBS for purchase order creation, tracking, and materials management.Oversee procurement activities including purchasing, sourcing, and supply chain management to meet production schedules.Conduct root cause analysis for supply disruptions or quality issues and implement corrective actions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, logistics, and inventory control to optimize supply chain operations.Perform regular site visits to conduct quality-control spot checks, including moisture readings (equipment and training provided) and contamination assessments; complete inspection reports and communicate findings to relevant parties.Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and internal policies.Perform market research to identify new suppliers, evaluate pricing strategies, and assess supply options.Qualifications2 years of experience in buying, purchasing, procurement, quality control, or sales (preferred).Bachelor’s degree preferred.Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, and other related software tools.Expertise in contract negotiation, contract management, sourcing, and category management.Ability to travel locally for site visits and inspections.Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) is preferred.Analytical skills including root cause analysis for supply chain issues.Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external suppliers.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.If you are a detail-oriented professional looking to grow your career and contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced team, we encourage you to apply.Company DescriptionSpecializing in the placement of professionals in the logistics & manufacturing world, People First Employment can help you find the job you need to get to the next level!
