What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at People Architects?
People Architects is excited to be partnering with a long-standing, family-owned precision manufacturing company to recruit a Quality Manager. Our client has been in business for decades and is known for tackling challenging and high-spec projects. They offer a wonderful work environment and people typically stay.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage the Quality Department in a precision machining environment.
- Maintain, monitor, and improve the Quality Management System.
- Oversee all incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Ensure proper calibration and use of manual measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, profilometers, height gauges, etc.).
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for nonconformances.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints through proactive quality initiatives.
- Partner with production, engineering, and programming teams to address quality concerns.
- Analyze quality data and generate KPI and NCR reports.
- Manage internal, external, and customer audits, including CAPAs.
Qualifications (Required and Prefered)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of hands-on quality management in precision CNC machining, aerospace, or automotive.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T, precision measurement, and CNC machining processes.
- Proven leadership and ability to build and develop a team.
- Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
- Proficiency with quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, PPAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
