Candidates must be professional, have a positive attitude, be a team player, and possess extraordinary interpersonal skills. Proper licensure as a dental hygienist in the state of Minnesota is required. Familiarity with Open Dental, knowledge and compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations, thorough chart documentation, accurate notations, and radiographs. This is an hourly, full-time position with benefits including dental coverage, supplemental health coverage, paid time off, and paid holidays.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings and examinations, assessing patients' oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including patient history and treatment plans.
- Assist in the management of infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Collaborate with dentists in developing treatment plans for patients.
- Provide assistance during dental procedures as needed.
- Monitor vital signs and maintain patient comfort during visits.
- Work with pediatric patients, ensuring a positive experience for children.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in Minnesota.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and general dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and procedures.
- Ability to assist in various dental procedures, demonstrating excellent assisting skills.
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
