Sub-Separate Pre-K Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
- Highly qualified with required competency in the content area; and
- Appropriate content/ program area educator license or eligible for licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; and
- Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or
- Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.
SALARY RANGE: Per the Pentucket Association of Teachers contract
Reports to: Building Principal
Work Year: School Year (184 days)
Salary/Benefits: Consistent with the negotiated educator salary schedule
Performance Responsibilities:
- Design and implement curriculum with well-structured units and lessons.
- Have strong subject-matter knowledge.
- Provide a safe and collaborative learning environment for all students.
- Engage families and community members as necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues and engage in reflective practice.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school personnel and students.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.
- Contribute to an overall school culture where ongoing personal and professional development is valued.
- Collaborate with educators on support plans for students

- Ensure those strategies used support Pentucket’s curriculum goals.
Specialty Areas:
- The Special Education Teacher provides an appropriate educational program for students with special needs.
- Develop lesson plans and deliver tiered instruction within established curriculum guidelines.
- Provide research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP.
- Assess student progress and determine the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.
- Employ various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.
- Develop and implement annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students.
- Coordinate the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.
Physical and Environmental Demands:

- Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment.
- Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
- Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
