Job Description /Responsibilities
- Knowledge of industry standards, i.e ASME Y14.5
- Responsible for the implementation of tooling, from original concept through to production
- Accountable for tooling development, tool fabrication quotes, tooling configuration changes that involve cost estimation, schedule coordination, and implementation with tooling supplier
- Project / Program Management
- Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent
- Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
- Experience with Aluminium Metal forming processes – Forming, Heat Treat, Artificial Ageing
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers
- Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions
- Ability to apply complex and non-routine analysis
- Operates with minimum of supervision in a complex environment
- Experience with CNC/Spin Forming/ Metal Fabrication in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment
- Experience in tool design
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements
- Fabrication, machining, welding and assembly experience
- Root cause methodologies experience
- Six Sigma green belt certification or training
- Experience with auditing
- Liaison engineering experience
- Aerospace experience is strongly
- Customer facing experience
- Ability to use test equipment and inspection equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Provides technical expertise to rapidly solve issues pertaining to vendor schedule and/or quality.
- Breaks down technical problems, risk, opportunities, in the correct order to create products and add value
- Leads positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
- Implementation of better optimised production processes
