Battery Testing Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Battery Testing Engineer to support battery validation, testing, and performance evaluation activities for advanced energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in battery testing, data analysis, and validation within automotive, EV, or energy storage environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform battery testing and validation activities for lithium-ion, lead-acid, or advanced battery systems.
- Execute electrical, thermal, environmental, and performance testing in laboratory environments.
- Analyze battery behavior, performance metrics, and test results to identify reliability and efficiency improvements.
- Support battery lifecycle testing including charge/discharge, cycle life, abuse testing, and thermal characterization.
- Collaborate with design, systems, validation, and manufacturing teams to support product development activities.
- Troubleshoot testing issues and support root cause analysis for battery performance concerns.
- Develop and maintain test procedures, validation reports, and engineering documentation.
- Operate and maintain battery testing equipment, data acquisition systems, and laboratory instrumentation.
- Ensure testing activities comply with quality, safety, and engineering standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in battery testing and validation.
- Strong understanding of battery systems, battery performance, and energy storage technologies.
- Experience with battery test equipment, data acquisition systems, and lab instrumentation.
- Knowledge of electrical and thermal testing methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and validation processes.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, EV, or energy storage industries.
- Familiarity with lithium-ion battery systems and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of CAN communication, data logging, and test automation tools.
- Exposure to environmental and safety testing standards.
