Summary:

The Custodian in a production setting is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across the manufacturing floor, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and other assigned areas. This position ensures a clean, safe, and organized environment that complies with company policies and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, GMP, or HACCP if applicable).

**We have a position available on Day Shift (M-F 6am-2:30pm)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Includes but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned: 

• Clean and sanitize production floors, equipment exteriors, common areas, and restrooms on a regular schedule.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub surfaces to remove dust, debris, and residue.
• Empty trash bins, dispose of waste, and replace liners in all designated areas.
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including use of proper PPE and cleaning chemicals.
• Respond promptly to spills and contamination hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, equipment malfunctions) to supervisors.
• Support periodic deep cleaning of production areas during scheduled shutdowns or maintenance windows.
• Assist with setting up or cleaning before/after special company events or audits.
• Maintain janitorial equipment and storage areas in clean and working condition.

Your Experiences, Skills, and Abilities: 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning practices, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, or around machinery.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety guidelines.

Safety:

Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.

Work Environment:

Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must also be able to work in a controlled chemical and wastewater environment. Must be able to perform in a laboratory environment. Persons who are sensitive to chemical environments with such medical conditions as asthma, allergies, or extreme sensitivity to chemicals may not be considered as good candidates for this position. 

Physical Demands:

Must pass Company required screening tests. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand, reach with hands and arms.
