Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support operations in our fast-paced metal stamping facility. This role is responsible for the movement, storage, and tracking of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, or reach trucks) to transport materials throughout the facility
- Load and unload coils, sheet metal, and finished stamped products
- Supply production lines with required materials in a timely manner
- Perform routine inspections of equipment
- Accurately complete inventory transactions and maintain records
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and staging of materials
- Follow all safety guidelines, including OSHA standards and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S standards)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- Experience in metal stamping or heavy manufacturing environment is a plus
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems, Knowledge of Plex is a plus
Work Environment
- Industrial metal stamping facility with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, hearing protection, gloves, and safety glasses
