Job Description & Position Responsibilities:
Penta Research is currently seeking Modeling and Simulation developers and analysts. The M&S professional conducts a wide variety of tasks developing, maintaining, and integrating specialized mathematical-based modeling and simulation, as well as analyzing results of mathematical modeling. Modeling and simulation tasks drive end-to-end performance analysis of elements of the Missile Defense System. Individual will also participate in the development, updating, and benchmarking/anchoring of M&S tools to support system analysis tasks. This position is in Huntsville, AL.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering classification, mathematics, or physics.
- 5-20 years’ experience in an engineering classification.
- Individual must have a demonstrated technical background in numerical modeling and simulation.
- Individual must be able to demonstrate knowledge of building and/or analyzing M&S for one-or-more missile defense-related system types: EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, kill vehicles, missiles/interceptors, threats & countermeasures, target discrimination, or command and control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.).
- Must possess simulation software development experience.
- Individual must possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Capable of working in focused teams or as an independent individual contributor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.).
- Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems ((e.g., aero-maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper-glide, countermeasures, etc.), a discriminator in selection.
- Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control, C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, etc.).
- Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.
- Ability to think critically to develop and capture concepts in technical papers, presentations, and discussions.
Travel Requirement:
- Position location: Huntsville, AL. Travel is not expected for this position.
