Entry Level Technician

Summary:

The mission of this position is to contribute to the success of the dealership by remaining dedicated to developing the knowledge and skills necessary to repair vehicles correctly in a safe and timely manner while upholding the highest levels of professional integrity and achieving individual proficiency goals established by management to support strategic plan objectives.

Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

• Effectively utilize manufacturer recommended diagnosis and repair processes.
• Promptly seeks clarification and/or management input, if Client concern, objective, or correct course of action is unclear.
• Upon completion of repair, verifies that the concern has been resolved; communicates clearly the cause and all steps taken to correct the concern.
• Consistently and actively maintains solid working knowledge of, and ensures documentation and procedures comply with, Company, Manufacturer, local, state, and federal policies, procedures and regulations, which pertain to the sale and service of new and pre-owned vehicles; consistently demonstrates passion for continued learning regarding brand-specific knowledge.
• Consistently, effectively, and efficiently locates, reads, analyzes, interprets, understands, and successfully performs work based upon complex technical documents.
• Proactively seeks out and understands all manufacturers publications relevant to repairing and maintaining the product.
• Consistently participates in determination of personal performance targets; sets challenging goals.
• Organizes work and work tools to minimize damage and/or loss.
• Proactively studies information relevant to successfully passing all certification testing.
• Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
• Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
• Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene and uniform appearance.
• Performs other specific administrative functions as directed by the service management.
• Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:

• UTI or equivalent training through accredited automotive technical institute or Dealership training.
• Mathematical principles, (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying and percentages) and application.
• Read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.
• Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, work independently and organize effectively.
• Must be detail orientated and be able to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain high ethical standards.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language.

Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

Physical Demands

• Stand for long periods at a time.

• Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs.
