What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDLA Driver position at Penske Vehicle Services?
CDL A Local Driver
Essential job functions:
Safely and efficiently transport vehicles to various destinations. Assist location with portering and detailing of vehicles when not assigned to a route using tractor/trailer.
Be able to complete the following:
- Local Metro Detroit area pick- up and deliveries of vehicles.
- Day Shift.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report any safety or mechanical concerns.
- Use of company equipment (tractor & trailer).
- Enclosed 2 car and lowboy trailer
- Moving cars, chassis and engine displays
- Maintain accurate driving logs, inspection reports, and trip documentation
- Maintain courteous and professional interactions with clients, ensuring on-time deliveries.
- Immediately report incidents or delays to management
- Vehicle functionality checks
- Vehicle detailing and show prep
- Battery replacement and charging
- Porter vehicles
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Skills/requirements:
- Valid CDL A License with clean driving record
- 1 years of professional driving experience required
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
