POSITION SUMMARY:
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for content creation and engaging with online social communities around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and INDYCAR brands to foster a community of loyal fans/customers. They will be tasked with driving meaningful interactions with our fans, customers, followers and beyond to grow the Penske Entertainment social community and presence. The Social Media Coordinator will work closely with creative, editorial, and video teams to inform content development based on brand needs and Penske Entertainment events. They will have a deep knowledge of social media platforms and an understanding of how users digest and engage social content to maximize our impact in the social space. They will be passionate about social media and content and the role it plays in the fan/customer journey.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Lead tactics to foster brand loyalty and drive positive sentiment on social across all Penske Entertainment social channels
- Lead messaging around holidays, milestones and anniversaries for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and around NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone drivers, paddock members and events
- Manage social listening, reporting and analysis of social platforms and performance
- Assist social media leads in day-to-day social publishing, content planning, and implementation of overarching social strategy
- Work closely with Communications and Community Engagement and Outreach team to highlight community involvement, partnerships and events across Indianapolis Motor Speedway social channels
- Create social content, including photography, graphics, and short-form video
- Partner with photo, video, creative, and editorial teams to inform content development
- Continually identify trends and opportunities for community engagement across all social platforms through conversation monitoring
- Stay current on latest industry trends and best practices, including emerging platforms
- Assist in pulling analytics and creating reports to track performance of content across social platforms
- Able to travel to INDYCAR races, meetings and events as defined by Director, Digital Marketing and other departments

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college preferred
Skills/Experience
- 2 years of experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing or related experiences
- Deep understanding of major social platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok, etc.)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
- Experience in social listening and analytics tools is preferred (Sprout, Meltwater, etc.)
- The person who is selected for this position should be proactive, efficient, flexible, resilient, organized and a team player

Travel/Work Hours/Flexibility
- General office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Longer hours and weekends required for the Month of May and other major racing events
- This job may require travel to INDYCAR events. There will be weekend and holiday work when race events are held
