What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Servicing Defense Specialist position at PENNYMAC?
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Litigation Attorney to join our team as a Senior Litigation Counsel. In this role, you will manage nationwide federal and state court litigation involving Pennymac family companies and their officers, directors, and employees.
You will work closely with outside counsel on mortgage-related litigation and settlement strategy, review pleadings and motions, approve attorney invoices, prepare reporting, and interact with all levels of management within the organization.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Selecting and managing outside counsel
- Reviewing and revising pleadings and motions
- Working with counsel and in-house management on litigation and settlement strategy
- Assisting with discovery and preparation for trials, arbitrations, and mediations
- Reviewing appellate briefs
The ideal candidate must be a licensed attorney, preferably in CA or TX, with 5 years of relevant work experience and expertise in business litigation, preferably mortgage servicing defense litigation. Knowledge of labor and employment law is preferred.
