Penny Electric is seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Service Technician to join our residential service team. This role is ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting abilities, a solid understanding of electrical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, customer-focused, and capable of working independently while delivering excellent service in residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential lighting and electrical systems
- Perform panel upgrades and replacements
- Install lighting systems, wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, and related components
- Use tools and testing equipment to identify and resolve electrical issues
- Clearly explain problems and solutions to customers, including upgrade recommendations
- Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations
- Complete work orders, reports, and documentation accurately and on time
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency service as needed
- Collaborate with team members, apprentices, and supervisors
- Perform conduit bending (pipe bending) as required
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge and experience working with NEC codes
- Good customer service skills
- Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset
Requirements
- Must pass a background check
- Clean driving record with at least 3 years of safe driving history
- Valid driver’s license
- OSHA 10 certification (preferred or required)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and use ladders and stairs
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and crawling
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions
- Commitment to following company safety policies and procedures
