Job Description:
Pennsylvania Rural Water Association is looking for a licensed water operator to join our team and assist us with our mission of providing technical support, certified training, and valuable services to the water and wastewater systems of Pennsylvania.
Background Requirements:
The successful applicant must hold a current PA DEP Water Operator Certification as well as technical knowledge of operating and maintaining a rural community water system and must also be self-driven and able to work independently. The candidate needs to uphold the image of the association and be able to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with operators, decision makers, regulatory agencies, and other professionals.
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating, maintaining, or managing a community water system.
- Strong understanding of the financial, managerial, and operational aspects of effectively managing utility systems.
· Ability to clearly communicate and explain operational issues to both field personnel and decision-makers.
· Working knowledge of leak detection methods and practices.
· Familiarity with applicable regulations, including monitoring and reporting requirements.
· Proficiency in common computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Willingness and ability to travel extensively as required.
