Position Summary
Own day-to-day field operations, safety, and profitability for our propane service territory — bulk delivery, tank set and installation, service work, supply procurement, and customer growth. Lead a team of drivers, service technicians, and CSRs.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily dispatch, delivery routing, and forecasting to maintain fill schedules and minimize runouts
- Oversee tank installation crews, tank sets/removals, regulator and line work, and leak checks
- Manage inventory levels; coordinate with wholesale suppliers
- Own the territory P&L: margin management, pricing tiers, delivery cost per gallon, and operating expenses
- Adhere to DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, NFPA 58, and OSHA compliance; own the safety program, driver qualification files, and hours-of-service adherence
- Own hazmat security plan, PA One Call compliance, and Weights and Measures meter certification schedule
- Hire, train, and develop drivers, technicians, and office staff; manage certification currency
- Grow gallons through residential, commercial, and builder/HVAC channels; retain accounts through service quality
- Manage fleet: — DVIRs, PM schedules, cargo tank inspections- Handle escalated customer issues and after-hours emergency response coordination
Required Qualifications
- - 5 years in propane, heating oil, or bulk fuel distribution, with 3 in a supervisory or management role
- Working knowledge of NFPA 58 and DOT/PHMSA hazmat regulations- Demonstrated P&L or budget ownershipCETP certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Valid driver's license; CDL Class B with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- Experience managing field workforce of 10
- Proficiency with propane ERP/dispatch software (ADD Systems, Cargas, Blue Cow, or similar)
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and TSA hazmat threat assessment Preferred
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
