Behavioral Health TechnicianAbout POWERPOWER is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping women reclaim their lives from addiction. We provide trauma-informed treatment and recovery support services for women with substance use and co-occurring disorders, fostering a safe, supportive environment where women can heal, grow, and build lasting recovery.Why This Role MattersThe Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical frontline role in supporting women early in their recovery journey. By maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, this position helps create the stability and consistency essential for healing and long-term recovery.What You'll DoClient Support & SafetyMonitor client behavior, safety, and well-being throughout the shiftConduct regular rounds, bed checks, and wellness observationsRespond to incidents and crises using calm, trauma-informed approachesMaintain a safe, respectful, and structured residential environmentMilieu ManagementSupport daily routines including wake-up, meals, groups, and transitionsReinforce program expectations, rules, and boundaries consistentlyDe-escalate conflicts and redirect behavior with professionalism and careClient EngagementBuild supportive, respectful relationships with clientsEncourage participation in programming and recovery activitiesModel healthy behaviors and support coping skill developmentGroup FacilitationLead or co-facilitate structured activities such as: Client Handbook Learning GroupRecreational or wellness activitiesMedication Line SupportAssist with coordination of medication line under nursing supervisionEnsure orderly and timely flow of clients during medication administrationDocumentation & CommunicationAccurately document client interactions, behaviors, and incidentsCommunicate key observations and concerns to clinical and supervisory staffParticipate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of careWhat You BringRequiredHigh School diploma or equivalent2 years' experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or residential careDriver's licenseMotor vehicle InsuranceAct 73, 33 and 34 clearancesAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidaysStrong interpersonal, communication, and observation skillsAbility to remain calm and responsive in high-stress or crisis situationsPreferredCPR/First Aid certification CRS certificationFamiliarity with trauma-informed care and recovery principlesCompensation, Benefits & PerksCompensation is based on experience and qualifications Shift differentials apply for evening and night shiftsBenefits includeHealth, dental, and vision insurance with minimal employee contributionPaid time off and holidays401(k) with employer matchProfessional development and training opportunitiesWhy You'll Love Working at POWEREnjoy working in lovely, peaceful spaces on our brand-new POWER CampusEasy commute with access to public transit and close to Parkway EastBe part of a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace cultureFree coffee-because every shift deserves a good startWork Schedule & Environment24/7 residential treatment environment, onsiteDay, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts requiredSome transportation of clients to appointments and meetings.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsActive role requiring standing, walking, and engagement throughout the shiftAbility to safely respond to and manage crisis situations (per training and policy)Work involves frequent interaction in a residential treatment settingOur Commitment to YouComprehensive onboarding and trainingSupportive, team-oriented work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and advancementEqual Opportunity EmployerPOWER is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
