PLS Legislative Reporter
Pennsylvania Legislative Services is actively seeking a qualified Legislative Reporting Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in communications or journalism, showcasing exceptional journalistic writing and interpersonal skills. Candidates with a solid understanding of Pennsylvania's legislative process and previous experience in a political environment will be given preference. Detail-oriented individuals with the ability to work independently are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop comprehensive legislative summary reports derived from committee meetings, public hearings, and various capitol events.
· Review and succinctly summarize current legislation and other legislative items.
· Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in communications or journalism.
· Superior journalistic writing and interpersonal skills.
· Familiarity with Pennsylvania's legislative process (preferred).
· Previous experience in a political atmosphere (a plus).
· Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Location: Hybrid position due to live in-person coverage in Harrisburg.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm with occasional flexibility based on the General Assembly’s legislative work schedule.
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, along with company benefits and 401K.
