What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Outpatient Therapist - Part-Time Evenings position at Pennsylvania Counseling Services, Inc.?
Pennsylvania Counseling Services (PCS) is seeking independently licensed Outpatient Mental Health Therapists interested in maintaining a small, flexible in-person caseload at our Lebanon, Chambersburg, and Harrisburg locations.
This opportunity is ideal for clinicians who may already have a full-time position, private practice, teaching role, family responsibilities, or other professional commitments and are looking to add just a few clients per week without taking on the expectations of a traditional part-time position.
We are specifically seeking providers who can offer in-person appointments during non-traditional hours, particularly evenings and/or weekends, when many working adults, couples, children, and families are most able to participate in treatment.
There is no expectation that clinicians build a large caseload. Providers have flexibility in determining how many clients they would like to see and which evening or weekend hours they make available.
Candidates with experience or specialization in the following areas will be prioritized:
- Children, adolescents, and families
- Couples, marriage, and family therapy
- Parenting, co-parenting, and family-system concerns
- Bilingual clinical services, particularly Spanish-speaking providers
With this opportunity, we offer a “private practice in a box”—providing much of the autonomy of independent practice while offering the infrastructure and referral support of a larger behavioral health organization.
PCS provides strong compensation and a consistent referral network without competitive restrictions or minimum billable expectations. Clinicians determine the size of their caseload and the days and hours they choose to make available.
This is an independent contractor opportunity. Providers work as 1099 contractors rather than W-2 employees.
Each PCS/LiveUp Counseling location maintains a culture of inclusion and belonging, with providers representing diverse backgrounds and areas of clinical expertise. Contracted clinicians may participate in optional case consultation and continuing education opportunities and have access to internal psychiatric providers to support continuity of care across psychotherapy and medication-management services.
Clinicians who are a strong fit for this opportunity should:
- Hold a valid Pennsylvania LMFT, LPC, LCSW, LSW, or Psychologist license
- Be comfortable practicing independently
- Ideally have approximately two years of outpatient therapy experience
- Be willing to provide services in person at our Lebanon or Harrisburg location
- Maintain consistent availability for at least a small number of evening and/or weekend appointments
- Provide required clearances and maintain independent professional liability insurance
Providers with expertise in child and family therapy, marriage and family therapy, or bilingual services will receive priority consideration.
- Insurance credentialing
- Provision and scheduling of new clients
- Referral support based on the clinician’s preferred populations and availability
- Billing and insurance verification for clinician services
- Access to medical staff for referrals and continuity of care
- Shared EMR system for documentation and coordination with medical staff
- Continuing education opportunities
- Furnished office space at our Lebanon and Harrisburg locations
- Optional participation in collaborative meetings and case consultation with colleagues
- Flexibility in establishing your own caseload size
- Flexibility in determining which evenings and/or weekend hours you offer appointments
- No minimum billable-hour requirement
- Provide high-quality outpatient psychotherapy services within the clinician’s areas of competence
- Maintain agreed-upon in-person evening and/or weekend appointment availability
- Manage a caseload at a size determined by the clinician
- Complete practice-management responsibilities, including scheduling ongoing sessions, returning client communications, and completing clinical documentation necessary for billable services
- Coordinate care with other providers when clinically appropriate
- Ensure clients complete prompt payment of copays and deductible amounts through the patient portal
- This position is intentionally designed for clinicians seeking a small, flexible caseload. Whether you are interested in seeing several clients one evening per week, offering Saturday appointments, or adding a limited number of clients around another professional role, we are interested in creating an arrangement that works for both the clinician and the clients who need access to care outside of traditional business hours.
