What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer, Temporary Carpenter position at Pennsylvania College of Technology?
Overview
Working under general supervision, this person will perform general carpentry functions. They will fill work requests via the College’s Work Order System. Work hours are determined by the College and are subject to change. Academic-year and summer hours are established to meet the needs of the department and the College. The employee may be required to work some hours beyond the normal schedule, at the discretion of the supervisor and with the supervisor’s approval. This is a temporary position.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED. Required
EXPERIENCE
- Four (4) years recent hands-on experience in the carpentry field. Required
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc. Required
- Must be able to work on assignments with little supervision. Required
- Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required
- Possession of basic computer skill. Preferred
Responsibilities
Physical Standards and Special Job Features
- Lifting 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
- May require climbing or working off of ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
Pay Transparency
