Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) is seeking a relationship-focused and mission-driven Development Manager to help grow the philanthropic and sponsorship support that makes our work possible.
For more than 30 years, PCN has connected Pennsylvanians with thoughtful, unbiased coverage of the people, issues, history, and events that shape our Commonwealth. From Pennsylvania government and politics to sports and history, PCN provides programming that informs, educates, and connects communities across the state.
The Development Manager will play an important role in helping PCN build the partnerships that sustain and expand this mission. Working closely with the Vice President of Advancement, this position will identify and cultivate corporate partners, develop meaningful sponsorship opportunities, steward existing relationships, and help grow PCN’s fundraising pipeline.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, connecting people with a mission they believe in, and turning those connections into meaningful partnerships.
What You’ll Do
- Identify, cultivate, and secure corporate sponsorships and underwriting support for PCN programs and initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing corporate partners, creating opportunities for engagement, renewal, and deeper partnership.
- Develop customized sponsorship proposals in collaboration with the Vice President of Advancement.
- Manage an active portfolio of corporate prospects and move relationships forward through thoughtful, consistent cultivation.
- Meet with current and prospective partners, both virtually and in person, to understand their goals and explore opportunities to work together.
- Maintain accurate records of relationships, interactions, and progress in PCN’s CRM.
- Work with the Vice President of Advancement to implement fundraising strategies and achieve revenue goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues across PCN to identify sponsorship opportunities that align with programming and organizational priorities.
- Assist with fundraising events, donor and sponsor meetings, and other engagement opportunities.
- Represent PCN at community and professional events as needed.
- Contribute to other Advancement initiatives and projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a personable, motivated professional who understands that successful fundraising starts with genuine relationships and a compelling mission.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Five or more years of experience in fundraising, sponsorship sales, business development, corporate partnerships, media sales, or another relationship-focused sales environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build trust and establish meaningful professional relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple relationships, priorities, and projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with businesses, corporate partners, donors, clients, or other external stakeholders.
- Experience with corporate sponsorships or nonprofit fundraising is preferred.
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising practices and experience using a CRM or donor database.
Why PCN?
At PCN, the work you do has a direct connection to our mission. The relationships you build and the partnerships you develop help make it possible for Pennsylvanians to access programming that informs, educates, and tells the story of our Commonwealth.
You’ll join a collaborative Advancement team where your ideas, initiative, and relationships can make a meaningful difference. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a growing portfolio, develop new partnerships, and help shape PCN’s approach to corporate engagement and fundraising.
